Village of Mariemont

Volunteers from Mariemont and Madison Place help keep our path beautiful.

Murray Path follows a transportation corridor that pre-dates the Village. Our founders envisioned Mariemont residents taking the trolley to jobs in the industrial and commercial hub in the city.

Approximately 80 percent of our users are on foot (more if you count dogs). Family-friendly wheeled transportation includes bicycles, tricycles, strollers, scooters, boards, skates, wheelchairs…

Boulders were brought to the Moraine, Ohio area by a glacier, then trucked to Murray Path in 2021. Note that our project engineers resolved severe drainage problems in this corridor with new storm sewers and catch basins.

Welcome to Murray Path!
The Village of Mariemont constructed this one-third-of-a-mile shared-use path in 2021.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources made this project possible with a grant from the Clean Ohio Trail Fund.
Our friends at Columbia Township provided a generous gift to our shared community by providing the local funds necessary to obtain the state grant.
Private foundations and over 200 individuals sponsored the path’s landscaping that includes 47 trees, 12 large boulders and several planting beds. Local Landscape Architect, Martin Koepke, donated his talents to beautify this community path.
Enjoy a stroll or ride from Plainville Road to Settle Road. Or continue through Fairfax, Ault Park, Hyde Park, Evanston… to the eastern edge of the Xavier University Campus, with further extensions in the works.
This year the Village of Mariemont is studying the feasibility of connecting Murray Path to the Columbia Connector, a path segment under development that will connect the Little Miami Scenic Trail to the eastern edge of Mariemont.
Imagine, in a few short years it may be possible to follow this protected, shared-use pathway to the entire CROWN – the Cincinnati Riding and Walking Network… and points beyond.
Thank you for visiting, and for supporting shared-use pathways that connect our communities.
